A cap or hat, sun block, sunglasses, a pair of solid gripped shoes, If any member of your party is prone to motion sickness, we suggest medication prior to fishing charters. We provide Dramamine or Vontrol at the office without any cost, but you must take it one hour before departure. Consider even consulting your pharmacist or doctor. Don’t forget to bring extra money for tips, souvenirs and lunch.
All the boats are equipped with:
• Rods brand Penn 6/0 and 9/0, Penn International, Spinning rods for jigging
• Line 50 lbs for the brand Penn 6/0 and an 80 lbs line for the Penn 9/0.
• Each boat counts with 1 or 2 fishing chairs depending on the boat, GPS, Fish finder, VHF Radio.

In the morning we will offer coffee w/cookies that you can enjoy while we are doing the check-in and we will give you a Tournament kit (t-shirt and pen). The fishing rules are explained before departure with our staff, we will introduce you to the judges and one member of the group will be assigned as a Captain of the group.
During the awards a Caribbean Lunch will be served with the catch of the day, Mexican sauce and guacamole will be served on your decorated table. Just call us and we will arrange it.
No, since security has been tightened at all airports worldwide we do not recommend you try to take edible fish back to the US first the airlines no longer accept styrofoam ice chest and securing dry ice in Cancun will cost you more time and effort than it is worth. In addition you will have delays upon your arrival in the US while your baggage is checked.
All Sailfish and Marlin caught are released unless you want to mount them. Then we bring them in and they will be sent away for mounting. Other species of fish are put in the cooler and brought to the Marina.
One great way to end a day of fishing is to eat your fresh catch. The Marina has the option of cooking the fish for you and your family for just $10 USD per person with french fries and salad at our restaurant. Or you can take your catch to your hotel restaurant and have it for that evening’s dinner (Just check they accept fresh fish at their kitchen).
Generally a 10% to 15% tip is given if the crew did a good job for you.
Game fish like sailfish and marlin are released. If you want to mount a fish, then those fish are brought in so we can send them off to be mounted. Other species like Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda and Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) are brought to the Marina to be consumed.
The hours of your fishing trip are calculated from “dock to dock” in other words, a 4 hour trip is “4 hours from the time you leave the dock until you return the dock” same for the 6 and 8 hour trip. Travel time to the fishing grounds is part of your trip time.
First, look at the fishing calendar and come when the sailfish or marlins are here. Second, charter the boat for at least 6 hrs or even take an 8 hr charter. you will enhance your chances. Third, tell the captain at check in that your main interest is big game fish.
Each boat comes with a First Aid kit and life vests for each passenger on board. Also each boat includes Rescue equipment, example: Radio, flare, and Ring lifesavers. Also, every trip is covered by an accident insurance.
The price includes 3 beers per person. It is not an “Open Bar.” Also liquor is not included but you are welcomed to bring it. The price also includes 2 bottles of water and 2 sodas per person. If you want more beer we recommend you bring it with you or request it, you can get as many as you want for an extra fee. The transportation from the Marina will not stop for beer and/or sandwiches so we recommend you to have it upon pick up.
Food is not provided on any of the fishing trips. We recommend that if you want food request a box lunch at the time you make your reservation. It will be ready at the Marina and you pay for it upon check in. Or you can hold until coming back to have lunch at our restaurant.

The best fish for your dinner will be Dorado (Mahi Mahi,) Wahoo, King Mackerel, Spanish mackerel, Snapper, and Grouper. Any of these will make for an unforgettable dinner.
Depending on the species of fish you are trying to catch and whether you are trolling or deep sea fishing, for trolling its (100- 300 FT) and deep sea fishing is (200-400 FT)
Yes, the staff at the marina will arrange everything for you so that you can mount your fish and have it shipped. We work with the international company Gray Taxidermy.
We use ballyhoo, mullet, and lures. We will vary the baits depending on the fish available at the particular time of year you go.
The fishing grounds are about 45 to 60 minutes from the dock. Going for sailfish or marlin may require 90 min to reach the fishing area.
When you charter the boat you decide, we normally recommend a combination of the two, so if trolling is slow we pull up on the reef and let you go for groupers and snappers, however on share fishing trips the captain decides; depending on weather conditions, species of fish available and how many people on the boat, most of the time we do both.
No, it is not included on fishing trips. Make sure to ask for it at the time of your reservation, it is under requests. Snorkel equipment is included only on sightseeing trips.
ASeasickness depends on the individual and the conditions of the sea the day you go fishing. We recommend that if you do not know if you get seasick, take a commercial motion sickness medication or use the wrist bands or patches that help you prevent seasickness problems. Consult your doctor if you are prone to motion sickness.
By law a maximum of 8 people can go on fishing trips. Sightseeing charters variate on the boat’s size.
Our captains or crew speak at least “fishing English.” The language will not be a problem. We always work to make a mix of captain and mate so you can have a good communication with the crew.
